Thank you for visiting our web site. We are pleased that
you have taken the time to be introduced to GRACE BIBLE INDEPENDENT
BAPTIST CHURCH of
Shinglehouse, Pennsylvania.
The ministry of Grace Bible Church is that of an
independent fundamental local New Testament Church based upon the Holy
Scriptures. Our name is a good way to introduce this ministry. God's GRACE
is the basis of our relationship with Himself. Ephesians 2:8,9 reads, "For
by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should
boast." This grace of God for salvation and a personal relationship
with God is our only hope for eternity. The BIBLE is source of all that is
taught at the church. It is not the ideas of men, even godly men, that are
important, what does God's Word teach us. God has revealed to mankind all
that is needed for him to live pleasing in His sight and pleasing God is
all that matters and matter it does! "The words of the LORD are pure
words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for
ever." Psalm 12:6,7. The CHURCH is God's ordained living institution
through which He does His work on the earth. The church is made up of
born-again individuals who have been baptized in a biblical manner, by
immersion since salvation. This family of God is made up of men, women,
boys and girls who have been redeemed by the blood of Christ. Though being
a faithful church member is not required for entrance to heaven it
must be understood that the local church is not optional for a Christian
to be obedient in their walk with God. I Timothy 3:15 declares the
importance of the local church, "But if I tarry long, that thou mayest
know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the
church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth."
To know Christ and to make Christ known is
the twofold goal of GBIBC. First, to evangelize, locally and worldwide,
bringing people into the family of God by introducing them to Christ as
Savior. Second, to edify each believer by introducing them to the Bible,
God's Holy Word so that they can "... grow in the grace and knowledge of
our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and for ever.
Amen." II Peter 3:18
